Our Commitment to Responsible Drinking
Ice Spirits Ltd is committed to the responsible sale and consumption of alcohol. We operate in full compliance with the Licensing Act 2003 and all applicable UK licensing regulations. We do not sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 18.
Age Verification
It is illegal to sell or supply alcohol to anyone under the age of 18 in the United Kingdom.
We operate a strict Challenge 25 policy. If you appear to be under the age of 25, you may be asked to provide valid photographic identification proving you are 18 or over before any sale is completed.
Accepted forms of identification include a valid passport, a photocard driving licence, or a PASS-accredited proof of age card.
By placing an order on our website, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over. Our delivery partners are instructed to verify the age of the recipient on delivery and will not leave parcels with anyone who cannot provide satisfactory proof of age.
UK Chief Medical Officers' Guidance
The UK Chief Medical Officers recommend that adults should not regularly drink more than 14 units of alcohol per week.
These units should be spread evenly across three or more days. If you have one or two heavy drinking episodes a week, you increase your risk of long-term illness and injury.
The safest approach is not to drink alcohol at all if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
There is no completely safe level of drinking. Any reduction in alcohol consumption reduces the risk of harm.
What Is a Unit?
A single unit of alcohol is 10ml of pure ethanol. As a guide:
A 25ml single measure of spirit (40% ABV) is 1 unit.
A standard 35ml measure of spirit (40% ABV) is 1.4 units.
A 125ml glass of wine (12% ABV) is 1.5 units.
A pint of lower-strength beer or cider (3.6% ABV) is 2 units.
ice³ is a premium strength vodka. Please be mindful of your measure and pace yourself accordingly.
Drink Driving and the Law
It is a criminal offence to drive, or attempt to drive, while above the legal alcohol limit in the United Kingdom.
The legal limits are:
England, Wales and Northern Ireland: 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, or 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
Scotland: 22 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, or 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
The police may stop any vehicle and require the driver to provide a breath test. Refusing to provide a specimen is itself a criminal offence.
There is no foolproof way to calculate how much you can drink and stay under the limit. The safest advice is to avoid alcohol entirely if you intend to drive.
Alcohol and Health
Regularly drinking above the recommended guidelines increases the risk of a range of health conditions, including liver disease, several forms of cancer, high blood pressure, and mental health problems.
If you are concerned about your own or someone else's drinking, free confidential advice and support is available.
